The 2004 Wire & Gas, at the Gold Coast International Hotel was the second held under the joint hosting of VASA and the former AAAE (Australian Association of Automotive Technicians).
The emphasis from an impressive line-up of speakers was that if technicians don’t continue to train themselves, they will have little chance of surviving. The convention attracted a record number of 227 delegates, almost double the average attendance at even the most successful of the former VASA conventions.
This convention also featured the biggest line-up of international experts, including Elvis Hoffpauir, President of MACS Worldwide in the USA, Hans Fernqvist from Volvo head office in Sweden, Robert Gardiner (Red Dot) and Dave Boyd from USA.
